How to set up a Kanban board for your kids

With a Kanban board you can easily visualize project tasks and workflows in the company and quickly get an overview of the work progress. You can also see who is currently working on what and which tasks are still open.

The main advantages are:
- Better overview in all project phases
- More transparency in the distribution of tasks
- Promotion of teamwork
- No unnecessary meetings
- Easily applicable

Okay, so far so good. But how do you use it for the family?

First, you should consider what goals you want to achieve with the board, e.g.

all help in the household
first the homework is done
the cats must be perfectly cared for every day
everyone thinks for themselves about their tasks, etc.

Then you think about where the board should be located and how it can be structured, e.g. like this:

On the board you can visualize tasks that have to be done at short notice, which are one-time or recurring, e.g. homework or preparation for the next class test. You can also make appointments visible so that they are taken into account and not forgotten. Please note that the board is not intended for long-term planning.

Here are a few more practical tips:
Your kids should design & implement the board themselves so they like it, identify with it ...and enjoy using it every day!
Also, it's important that the board structure is totally simple & plausible, making it easy to follow through on a daily basis.
Next to the board you can plan a small free space, e.g. for an important checklist or additional notes. For example, how about a fancy supply plan for the kittens, so that everyone helps and nothing goes wrong?
